Years of one-party rule are just not paying off for Bridgewater residents. Taxes are up more than 20% since 2019 and we're getting less in return. This council will tell you it's about inflation, and meanwhile they're spending money on an Office of Constituent Relations that doesn't even answer the phone! Add on confusing road closures, credit downgrades, and delayed projects and it's clear it's time for change in Bridgewater. It's time for Bridgewater to go BIG by sending Andrew Bucko, Ridwana Isla, and Joan Geiger to the township council!
The current council hasn't delivered a budget on time in three years! Short-term borrowing and poor planning are costing residents. Standard and Poor's even downgraded Bridgewater's credit rating this year! This administration has taken their eye off the ball. We need council people like Andrew Bucko, Ridwana Isla, and Joan Geiger who are going to sweat the details, plan for the future, and look for creative solutions not just convenient ones.
After railing against PILOT programs and warehouses, this council has reversed course. Now they are rubber stamping warehouses at the Center of Excellence, a data center in Martinsville, and a trucking terminal in the center of Bridgewater! Projects like these take away from our tax base passing the buck to residents not to mention clogging our roads with more traffic and trucks. We should prioritize development that creates jobs and improves the lives of residents. Companies like Sanofi didn't leave New Jersey, they just left Bridgewater and we should be planning for new businesses to take their place.
This council has grown complacent. They watered down the qualifications for posts like the town engineer to hire their cronies, spend tax payer money on an office of constituent relations that's most famous for not answering the phone, and now the Mayor is trying to put his sister, a political fundraiser, on the council! Andrew, Ridwana, and Joan will prioritize bringing top talent to work for Bridgewater residents and get this town back on track
Over a year ago, we were promised that a check for Camp Cromwell was in the mail. Now we're being told the town can't find $80,000 to hire a project manager and access a $4 million dollar grant from Congress. We should be investing in safe Third Spaces for our children to learn and grow, not kicking the can down the road like the current council.
